High cost controllers are overkill for the vast majority of riders. Would you pay $100 more for a 1 HP gain? In most cases the AFR+ can already out perform the competition anyways.

What really changes between all the model years?
The main changes between the year ranges which creates such an extensive list of part numbers is the injector connector type to plug-in and also the implementation of O2 sensors to the bikes. The Sportster and VROD models also have different base maps because of different RPM rev limits.
